Engineer day 2022

Every year on September 15, India along with Sri Lanka and Tanzania celebrate National Engineer’s day to recognise and honour the achievements of the great engineers

India observes Engineer's Day on September 15 as a mark of remembrance and tribute to Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, who is considered as one of the greatest engineers in the country. Vishveshvarya is also known as the father of Indian Engineering because of his enormous contributions and innovations in the field of engineering and the development of society. India has been celebrating Visvesvaraya's birth anniversary as Engineer's Day since 1968.

Engineers are professionals who invent, design, and build complex systems, structures, and materials in order to fulfill functional objectives and deliverables, keeping in mind factors such as practicality, regulation, safety, and cost. The word ‘engineer’ is derived from the Latin words ‘ingeniare’ (which means ‘to create or generate’) and ‘ingenium’ (which means ‘cleverness’).

The Steam Engine is Invented

British engineer Thomas Savery invents the steam engine, a heat engine that performs mechanical work using steam as its working fluid.

Michael Faraday is Born

British scientist and inventor Michael Faraday, who contributed to the study of electromagnetism and electrochemistry, is born in Newington Butts, London.

The Electric Motor is Developed

The first commercially suitable electric motor is developed by Belgian engineer Zenobe Gramme.

Father of the Railway

he built the first public inter-city railway line between Liverpool and Manchester in 1830. The Stephenson railway gauge is still widely used around the world.

Elon Musk

He formerly co-founded Paypal and is the current co-founder, and CEO of Tesla, the co-founder of SpaceX, The Boring Company, and SolarCity, as well as, the co-founder of Neuralink. Love him or hate him, his achievements are impressive and certainly qualify him to be included in our list of greatest engineers.

Father of the modern skyscraper

was a classically trained structural engineer and architect who would later create designs for buildings that allowed for easier construction of taller and taller buildings.

He was also one of the first structural engineers and architects to use CAD. His gifts to the American people include the Willis Tower and John Hancock Centre.

Nicola tesla

Mr. Tesla's achievements are without doubt. This Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and physicist had to be included on our list. Tesla's prolific technical mind helped him further many technologies in his day -- much to our benefit.

Charles Babbage invented one of the first computers

Gottlieb Daimler helped develop the first automobile

Lee de Forest was one of the pioneers of radio known as the father of radio

Frank Whittle invented the turbojet engine

Steve Wozniak was the true genius behind Apple

Oliver Heaviside predicted the existence of the ionosphere and invented the coaxial cable

the great Hemiunu was one of a select group of well-known mathematicians and engineers that oversaw the design and building of the "Great Pyramid at Giza."

As per market analysis textile engineering is another major important field for Asian countries. All Asian countries China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan has good opportunities in textile sector. China, Bangladesh are huge manufacturer of apparel and garments. India and Pakistan has so many textile mills and they provide good employers in nation.

According to report India’s 3% of GDP is depends on Textile Industry of India.indian textile market has 2nd largest capability of global textile needs. As per policy of FDI in Textile sector Indian government allows 100% FDI under the automatic route.Textile sector contributes approximate 5 percent of share in GDP of India.

The Pakistan's textile industry too contributes more than 60% to the country's total exports, which amounts to around US $ 5.2 billion. The industry contributes around 46% to the total output produced and exported by Pakistan. The contribution of this industry to the total GDP is 8.5%

And what not , Engineer trace their marks to the history on their own , engineers have their own legacy , spark and contribution to humans , there is no enough appreciation to engineers from world , what I think engineers from all over the world should receive tribute from  world because its quite difficult to gather all achievments of engineers at one page

Amongst the world Russian Federation ,United States, Iran, Japan, South Korea are the countries that ar producing world top clas and largets number of engineers

If we need to appreciate engineer of today / engineer of future whole data sums upto invention of metal 3d printer

Dr. Carl Deckard

In the late '80s, Dr. Carl Deckard of the University of Texas developed the first laser sintering 3D printer of plastics. This invention paved the way for metal 3D printing. The first patent of laser melting of metals was filed in 1995 by the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany.

You can now create dozens of designs in CAD, input them into a 3D printer, and in a matter of hours you have all your prototypes,” adds Maria Yang, professor of mechanical engineering and director of MIT’s Ideation Laboratory. “It gives you a level of design exploration that simply wasn’t possible before.”

Throughout MIT’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, many faculty members have been finding new ways to incorporate 3D printing across a vast array of research areas. Whether it’s printing metal parts for airplanes, printing objects on a nanoscale, or advancing drug discovery by printing complex biomaterial scaffolds, these researchers are testing the limits of 3D printing technologies in ways that could have lasting impact across industries.

Improving speed, cost, and accuracy

There are several technological hurdles that have prevented additive manufacturing from having an impact on the level of Gutenberg’s printing press. A. John Hart, associate professor of mechanical engineering and director of MIT’s Laboratory for Manufacturing and Productivity, focuses much of his research on addressing those issues.

What are your thoughts on this occasion , should it be celebrated in world wide sectors ?

And why just india and sri lanka always take part ?

One more thing do you know which engineer’s invention played a remarkable role in your life ?
